Volunteering is an excellent way to care for and contribute to your community, and to connect with new people.

Where can you volunteer at Council?

  • Library

Volunteers assist visitors in selecting reading or listening materials and help with regular collection of library items.

  • Tourism (Visitor Information Centre & RV Site Camp Hosts)

You will meet and greet visitors from near and far, helping them to get the most out of their visit to Julia Creek and surrounding areas. Assisting with ensuring guests at the RV Friendly Site are travelling in fully self-contained vans and completing appropriate permits allowing a 96 hour stay.

  • Caravan Park

If you enjoy meeting people and being outdoors, volunteering at the Caravan Park might be perfect for you. You can assist guests finding their site, learning the ropes in administration and assisting with keep the park presented in a clean and tidy manner for all guests to enjoy.

  • Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP)

Assist the CHSP Coordinator with delivery of games, meals on wheels and other errands for clients as part of our CHSP Program which supports independent living for seniors in our community.
