South32 Cannington Mine
Located at the Southern end of the McKinlay Shire, Cannington is a South32 underground mining and surface processing operation that has grown to become the world’s largest and lowest-cost producer of silver and lead.
Cannington was discovered in 1990 on a cattle station which the operation takes its name. Following feasibility studies and mine construction in the early to mid-1990’s, the first batch of ore was processed in October 1997.
Since this time, the workforce at Cannington as grown to more than 800. The mine site provides a variety of facilities and services to help ensure employees have the opportunity to participate in a range of healthy activities including a tennis court, mini-golf course, cricket pitch, football field and air-conditioned gymnasium.

Proposed Vanadium Mine at Saint Elmo - Multicom Resources
The Saint Elmo Project is 100% owned by Multicom Resources Ltd and is situated 25km east of Julia Creek in Queensland’s North West Minerals Province. With the first production of vanadium pentoxide targeted for early 2021. Multicom is currently progressing the permitting, approval and development of its Saint Elmo Project. It has lodged the Mining Lease Application, is well advanced on an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) and is progressing with a Pre-Feasibility Study.
