MEDIA RELEASE

29th June 2018

It has been a big year for art and culture projects in McKinlay Shire, with the final Regional Arts Development Fund round allocated. Creative projects including claymation activities, a cabaret show and a community mosaic project in Nelia, are amongst the latest imaginative projects funded through the Regional Arts Development Fund from McKinlay Shire Council, announced Mayor Belinda Murphy.

“This past financial year the Regional Arts Development Fund, a partnership between the Queensland Government and Councils, has seen arts projects come to life totalling $49,360.”

Successful projects have included theatre and performance, a variety of craft workshops, community murals and school holiday activities.
The Regional Arts Development Fund is a partnership between the Queensland Government and McKinlay Shire Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland.

The Queensland Government, through Arts Queensland, is contributing $2.08 million to the 2017-18 RADF partnership across 59 councils statewide.
